Selina Wagner
Selina will be participating in our Industry Day where she will be giving a talk on Tirrick – writing and developing an animated feature. Selina will be sharing the development of her first animated feature film, ‘Tirrick’.
Supported by Screen Scotland, Selina has been writing her first feature screenplay and learning all sorts of things along the way! She will talk about the story, the inspiration and the writing process. She will also be showing sketches, mood boards and reference material. Sean Greenhorn, Screen officer from Screen Scotland, will follow up with an overview of the funding schemes available for animation in Scotland, followed by a Q&A.
Selina’s animation career started in 2002 when her degree film Takuskanskan won several awards including the Craft Award at the British Animation Awards. She was a freelance animation director for over 16 years and created over 40 TV commercials and countless commercial short films for clients including the BBC, Irn Bru and CBeebies. Now Selina is Creative Director and owner of Ping Creates, a studio in Stirling. Selina also writes and directs many of her own short films which have each screened at over 45 international film festivals. She is now embarking on writing her first feature.
