Todd Harris
“We don’t write our stories. We Draw Them.” -Walt Disney
Todd Harris’s career in storytelling has taken him across all media, from advertising to graphic novels, from television to video games. But his filmography says it all.
Many of your favorite moments from the most beloved films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, from Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther, Deadpool 2, Shang-Chi, Spider-Man: Far from Home, to the climax of the first memorable run in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, (just to name a few) began as his drawings.
As the lead story artist on the first John Wick and every chapter since, his work with director Chad Stahelski helped elevate a small film about a retired assassin and his puppy from passion project to multibillion-dollar franchise.
You’ve heard of the term ‘storyboard’ but what you may not know is the lesser-known but great tradition of the ‘Story Artist’: born in the Disney studios in the 1920s, and for a long time, the great secret weapon of that historic studio, the Story Artist is a multidisciplined specialist, who is not only authorized, but expected to improve on the screenplays they work from, and in many cases, create entire sequences that did not previously exist in any written form. A Story Artist is, among other things, a director, screenwriter, fight choreographer, and cinematographer combined. Of the many greats in this field, Todd Harris stands alone.
Sought after by some of the greatest directors and producers of our time, Todd’s proven record as a master storyteller has elevated him to his greatest challenge yet: Executive Producer, Show Runner, and Director on Marvel’s Eyes of Wakanda.
