Mehrdad will be participating in our Industry Day where he will be giving a talk on: Into the World of Production Design. 

Mehrdad is a talented artist and art director with a passion for storytelling. He was born during war in a border city between Iraq and Iran, where his love for painting, animation, and storytelling was cultivated from a young age. Despite the challenges he faced along the way, Mehrdad followed his dreams and eventually made his way to California and the Walt Disney Animation Studios.

After 2 was accepted into the trainee and apprentice program at Disney, where he had the opportunity to learn from some of the most talented artists in the industry. His hard work and determination eventually paid off, and he was offered a role as Art Director, Environments, working on Disney’s animated film, Encanto. After that he was promoted to Production designer role for Strange world. 

For Mehrdad, this film represents a magical journey that has taken him from his childhood in Iran to the heart of the animation industry at Walt Disney Animation Studios. He is grateful for the opportunities he has had to pursue his dreams and contribute to the magical world of Disney animation.
